In a red forest, there lived a little leaf named Leif.
Leif was very curious.
He always wondered how leaves could float through the air like magic.

Most leaves felt like something invisible was holding them still.
They didn’t like it one bit.
But Leif was different.
One windy day, a playful breeze lifted Leif into the air and carried him away.
As he tumbled and swirled, Leif saw the Big Blue Tree—the very thing he’d been part of all along—for the first time.

“Why didn’t I notice how beautiful our tree was before I let go?”
Leif wondered aloud as he floated gently to the ground.
During his journey, he thought about his place in the forest.
When he finally landed on a soft pile of fallen leaves, they welcomed him warmly.

Leif felt a little sad. It was as if leaves noticed the beauty of the Big Blue Tree only after… leaving it.
“But we are still part of it,” a Wiser Leaf said.
She showed Leif a scroll that explained how leaves feed their trees by becoming part of the soil.

Feeling reassured, Leif found peace.
He was happy to help the red leaves still hanging, now from a different place.
All of a sudden, it began to rain.
A raindrop landed nearby. It looked just as confused as Leif had been.

Leif smiled and said, “This is where we take root.”
The End.
