Dedication
This book is dedicated to Lilly,
and all other children who dream of sharing their gifts with the world.
BoxLilly
BoxLilly is a little cardboard box.
All boxes are born with eyes on the inside.

BoxLilly lives near the Toy Maker’s shop,
among many other boxes.

BoxLilly dreams of
delivering a toy to a child.
But a Big Box guards the door.

“May I deliver a toy?” BoxLilly asks.
”All boxes store, few deliver,”
says the Big Box.
“To deliver, you must learn to see.”
“W-what?” She has no idea
what the Big Box is talking about.
“I can already see,” she mutters.
Every day, BoxLilly tries to sneak in.
The Big Box always stops her.
Until finally, BoxLilly finds trouble.

Oh no, BoxLilly‘s stuck.
So BoxLilly turns herself outside-in.

Now BoxLilly sees in a different way.

She picks the best toy ever!

At last, BoxLilly delivers a toy.

The End.
Definition
out·side-in | \ˈau̇t-ˌsīd-ˈin\
BoxLilly’s eyes move from the inside surface of the box to the outside. Inside, what she sees goes through her. Outside, she gets less in the way.
About Change
In stories, something hard happens and big changes follow all at once. A spider bite, a lightning strike.
Real life is different. The hard thing happens, but strength comes from what you do after.
