Nibbles was born in the treetops.

He never touched the ground.

He watched the cardinals.

“Flying is for birds,” they said.

One morning he reached too far.

He fell.

He hit a branch.

Bubbles rowed below.

“I saw it catch you.”

“When I wanted to swim, the fish said no.”

One day, there was Ada.

She looked up.

He took her paw.

Stepped down.

And happened.
