I Saw It Catch You

I Saw It Catch You

Nibbles was born in the treetops.

He never touched the ground.

He watched the cardinals.

“Flying is for birds,” they said.

One morning he reached too far.

He fell.

He hit a branch.

Bubbles rowed below.

“I saw it catch you.”

“When I wanted to swim, the fish said no.”

Sometimes he climbed lower.

One day, Ada was there.

He took her paw.

He stepped down.

It caught him.

The End.
